This week on Weird and Wacky Wednesdays, we begin with a man who was arrested for running into a car…that contained his stolen snowblower. Then we learn about what not to do in an employee bathroom and finally, we hear about a not-so-sweet valentine’s day celebration coming out of Louisiana.
Follow the jump to learn more about this week’s weirdest and wackiest legal cases from around the world!
I know I hit them officer, but that’s my snowblower!
In Wisconsin, a man began following a vehicle after he saw the two people steal a snowblower from his garage. Instead of calling the police, the man took matters into his own hands and used his truck as a weapon, driving right into the driver’s side of the thief’s vehicle.
He was arrested and is now facing felony reckless endangerment charges. The people in the other vehicles were hurt but did not suffer life-threatening injuries.
However, according to the police, they may also be arrested as there was a snowblower found in the back of their car.
I mean, the man knew what he saw, but perhaps t boning another car in order to get your snowblower back is not the best idea in hindsight.
Why is there a camera in the toilet?
The work bathroom is the place you can go just for a moment of alone time during a busy day at the office. It’s the one place you know you can be guaranteed privacy.
But that wasn’t the case in one Pennsylvania police precinct, where a small camera with an SD card, that was disguised so it would blend in, was discovered in the corner of a urinal.
After its discovery, a 9-11 operator said he needed to use the single-occupancy bathroom and remained in there for several minutes. When he left, it was discovered the SD card was missing, but when questioned about this, the man denied taking it.
However, a later house search revealed flash drives containing video of different cops using the washroom. He has since been charged with evidence tampering and three counts of invasion of privacy.
I don’t know about you, but hearing this story just unlocked a new fear in my mind.
A not so Happy Valentine’s Day
You have to really hate your ex to go out of your way to find a website that supplies hitmen and then actually attempt to go through with hiring one.
Rentahitman.com is an actual website out there, that actually works with law enforcement and sends them information on people who actually try to use their services seriously. And the latest person to fall for this was a 14-year-old girl in Louisiana.
She was arrested on Valentine’s Day after submitting real information to the fake hitman website, with the intention of having her ex-boyfriend killed. Apparently, the website has been there for 17 years and has assisted the police in catching people all over the U.S.
Not that I’m out here giving any advice on how to hire a hitman or anything, but a good thing to consider is that if the website can be found by a simple search into Google, it probably isn’t a legit hitman for hire website.
