Weird and Wacky Wednesdays: Volume 260

Summer is ending and in Vancouver it feels like summer stopped yesterday with the first cool, rainy day of the season. Many welcome the end of summer and the coming of long-needed rain. I like it hot. When the summer stops abruptly, I grieve just a little. But I understand how people feel. Sometimes you just want it to stop. This week we are stopping our summer review of weird and wacky food-law stories and looking at cases where people just want it to stop.

Weird and Wacky Wednesday: Volume 259

I consider myself a foodie. I like to cook, I like to go out to eat and I like to watch competitive cooking shows. I noted over the summer, Weird and Wacky Wednesdays often dealt with food crimes. If I could go back to law school, I might have specialized in “food law.” If this isn’t a recognized area of the law, I could make it one just like I invented “Driving Law” about a decade ago. 

This week we’re still dealing with food, but this time it’s fast-food lawsuits.

Kyla Lee in Vancouver is Awesome: Months after Vancouver ‘gourmet cabaret’ show cancelled, ticket holders await refunds

Were you one of the hopefuls that bought tickets to the cirque-style dinner and show? The show that was originally scheduled for October 2022 disappeared like a circus magic act. Their website landing page changed to an announcement explaining the temporary suspension of ticket sales because of ‘corporate restructuring’. Since then, their Instagram account states: “The Show is Suspended Indefinitely.”

Weird and Wacky Wednesdays: Volume 257

It’s hot in many places. And it’s important to control your anger. This week we have three wacky stories where people failed to control their anger, behaved badly according to the stories and now have the police on their case. Of course, everyone charged is presumed innocent. They are not presumed to be level-headed, however. The lesson from these stories is that, even if it’s hot outside, try to keep your cool.
