Weird and Wacky Wednesday: Volume 215

This week on Weird and Wacky Wednesday a trailer full of bat feces was stolen in Nebraska, a man was charged for punching a flight attendant mid-flight and three Florida men were caught trying to steal traffic lights.

Follow the jump and learn more about this week’s weirdest and wackiest cases from around the globe.

PSA: Check the trailer before stealing it

I’m sure that’s exactly what thieves in Nebraska were cursing themselves for, after not checking the contents of the trailer they were stealing off a wildlife company’s property.

What they got away with, on top of the trailer itself, was about 500 to 700 pounds of bat feces. Yes, you read that right, bat poop, and a lot of it at that.

The sanctuary does jobs where they do pest removals, and that includes taking care of the matter left behind by such pests. This definitely explains the 700 pounds of bat feces loaded into a trailer.

I guess the people stealing the trailer didn’t think to check inside it to make sure what they were getting was actually worthwhile. Hey Siri, does bat poo make good fertilizer?

What happens in the air, gets punished on land

After hitting a flight attendant during a flight from Mexico to Los Angeles, a Californian man is now facing charges of interference with flight crew members and attendants.

Apparently, the whole debacle began when the man grabbed a flight attendants’ shoulder when he went to ask for coffee, and then put his fists up when a different male flight attendant approached him.

After the male flight attendant turned his back to the passenger and began walking away, the man ran up behind him and punched him in the head.

He was stopped by other passengers from running to the back of the plane, and when it landed the man was escorted off the plane by police.

If it wasn’t obvious, the man has been banned from the airline, American Airlines, for life.

Who steals a traffic light?

Another day, another wacky story coming out of Florida, and this time, the story includes an attempted robbery of traffic lights. Yeah, you know, those things with lights that turn red, yellow and green and control the flow of traffic.

Well three men in Florida were arrested and charged with grand theft auto after an off-duty detective spotted them trying to saw down a traffic pole at 1am.

This after they had already successfully cut down three poles, that were found by police in the back of their van.

Apparently, traffic lights are worth about $5000, but I wonder who these guys were thinking they would be able to sell them to. Well, I guess there’s a market for everything out there.
