Man arrested after fight breaks out at Victoria concert
Sometimes things get rowdy at a concert and a fight breaks out. These things happen. And it happened at one such concert in Victoria, BC on the upper balcony of the Royal Theatre.
It could have been some accidental shoving or stepping on toes, but when the police arrested, in their words “a very intoxicated man” they had to use large amounts of pepper spray. So much pepper spray was used in fact, he needed to be decontaminated at a hospital before the Victoria Police were able to take him to the police holding cells.
On the way out he allegedly damaged a window and was charged with assault and mischief. I think everyone was just glad that no one got thrown off the balcony during the scuffle. In the end, the indie band, Mother Mother was telling the person “Get out of here, this is a place of love and not violence”, I’m sure the audience was relieved when he was escorted away.
Maybe he would have appreciated the pepper spray a bit more if he was at a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert?
4-Year-Old “the new Max Verstappen“
Most of us are too busy learning how to ride a bike when we were 4. But not this 4-year-old boy!
In the Dutch city of Utrecht, the child managed to insert the keys to his mother’s car, open the car, insert the key in the ignition, start the car, step on the clutch and press the accelerator.
Of course, the boy didn’t get very far before hitting two parked cars and like any smart 4 year old, he abandons the car and leaves the scene of the crime! Luckily bystanders found the boy and brought him to the North Utrecht police.
When the police received a report of an abandoned car in the same neighbourhood, they contacted the registered owner and realized that it was the boy’s mother. His mother described him as “highly enterprising”. The boy then used hand gestures to show steering and a collision. The police came to the conclusion he had been driving.
The police then accompanied the boy and met with the father and mother at the crashed vehicle. There the police asked the boy to show them how the car worked, which he did perfectly! They concluded that when the father left for work early, he decided to go for a drive. He probably got farther than most of the new manual transmission drivers out there!
Stealing Batteries From the Sheriff
In Alabama, two men, Gabriel Mendoza Garcia and Steve Gerome Spann thought they could cash in the renewable energy trend. The problem was the batteries they intended to steal belonged to a speed-warning trailer of the Sheriff’s Office.
“It appears they were trying to get the batteries to sell the batteries, batteries are bringing a high dollar now”
Sheriff Heath Taylor
Of course both the men were tracked down through the trailer’s GPS. They have been charged with first-degree theft of property and first-degree criminal mischief. The trailer itself was also equipped with a camera, which captured the whole incident. Sheriff Taylor concludes by saying “It just shows you we’ve got crazy people running around”
I know that gas prices are driving people to switch to alternative energy but make sure your new source is legal!
