Run A Lawn-g Now, Y’Hear?

Thank you Elora, law student extraordinaire for submitting this most excellent Weird and Wacky Wednesday story. In Halton, Ontario, police stopped a motor vehicle that seemed, well, unfit to be driven on the roadway.

But this was no ordinary mechanical defect, like a tail light out or a missing bumper. Rather, the vehicle was missing the whole seatbelt assembly and the driver’s seat. In the gigantic hole where the driver’s seat once was, the driver had apparently placed a lawn chair.

I can only speculate as to why a person would go to that trouble and replace the seat with something so rickety… but it just goes to show you that a little creativity can go a long way. A long way to getting you a ticket, that is.

Tree-Loving Hippies

We’ve all heard the joke about people who hug trees. But this is a new one.

A man in Connecticut was recently arrested after homeowners returned from being out to find him in their back yard, apparently humping trees. Yes, he was performing fake coitus with a bunch of actual live trees. To top it off, he was half-naked, screaming at the top of his lungs, and eating the branches.

Police arrived, but the man apparently did not want to end his tree-related copulation, and so he ran. Into the neighbour’s house. This frightened the neighbours, who understandably ran away in fear.

Gee, do you think some drugs were involved?

Bridezilla

Meanwhile, in the UK, a Bridezilla has taken the cake for being the most deplorable human of all time. In order to secure more than $11,000 in donations for her nuptials, the bride faked having terminal cancer. She claimed that the wedding was her last chance to have her dad, who actually had a terminal illness, walk her down the aisle.

Well, he died before the event. Honestly, that’s probably for the best as he did not have to see what she had done.

According to witnesses, she counted the cash that she had been given before heading off to her honeymoon…. No cancer to be found.
