This week on Weird and Wacky Wednesdays were reminded that not everything requires a 9-1-1 call, and we also learn what not to do if we ever find ourselves in an on the run situation. And we end this week off with a police appearance at the most talked-about man of the week Will Smith’s house…but the visit had nothing to with what’s been keeping him in the news this week.

I’m missing some chicken tenders
9-1-1 is the number you call in the case of an emergency. It seems that not everyone is always aware of that as we still sometimes hear of people calling the cops for the silliest reasons.
That’s exactly what happened at a KFC in Cleveland. A woman received 4 fewer pieces of chicken than she thought she ordered, and when the employee wouldn’t give her the pieces, she believed she was owed, she called the police.
When the police officer arrived, he had to remind the grown woman, that 9-1-1 was only to be used in the case of an emergency, and the dispute over chicken tenders certainly did fall under such a category.
As you could have guessed, no arrested were made or criminal charges filed.
Let me borrow that phone, please
After escaping jail and being on the run for two days, the convict, who was serving multiple sentences, including 60 years for a past escape attempt, decided it’d be a good idea to stop and ask people if he could borrow their cellphones. In the middle of a multi-day manhunt for him.
This decision he made ultimately led to his capture after a civilian recognized him from the police description that went out and called 9-11.
The facility workers are still investigating how he was able to escape, but I’m sure they’ll be keeping a closer eye on him now.
The third time is usually the charm for people, and I’ll bet they don’t want to find out if the same goes for him.
What’s that drone doing here
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, or just somehow managed to avoid all forms of media since Sunday night, you’ve definitely heard about the Will Smith and Chris Rock incident.
The one where Chris Rock made an insensitive joke about Will’s wife Jada, and then Will got up and slapped Rock across the face in the middle of the Oscars. That incident.
Well, the police responded to a call at Smith’s house in Calabasas yesterday but it had nothing to do with that incident since Rock has decided he won’t be pressing charges.
Instead, it had to do with reports that a drone was seen flying around his house. When police arrived, they were unable to locate the drone and there are no leads on who could’ve been flying it. It wasn’t clear who called the police, the Smiths themselves or perhaps the neighbours.
