“I think a big ramification that we’re likely to see is a loss of trust from the local Indigenous communities when we’re talking about selling off assets that belong to the city of Vancouver – we have to remember where all of this land actually comes from… And to do this in a business way with a business focus with the idea of making short-term cash, without thinking about the rights and consulting with the Indigenous groups that have claims to this land that might have an interest in doing something with the land themselves – I think is a very bad move for the city…”
