This week on Weird and Wacky Wednesday, two men in Virginia Beach got arrested after trying to steal gas and sell it for cheaper, a bodybuilder was caught lying thanks to his wife’s social media and a man in Memphis was arrested after trying to sell a stolen car…back to its original owner.

Stealing and passing gas
With gas reaching insanely high prices within the last few months, it’s getting harder and harder for people to afford it.
It seems as though two men in Virginia Beach thought so too, and apparently decided to do something about it.
While the investigation is still ongoing, the police have accused and arrested two young men for apparently stealing thousands of dollars worth of gas. Apparently, they were selling this stolen gas for cheaper through an app.
It’s interesting to think they’re selling it for cheaper when just a few months ago we saw a story of men stealing gas and selling it for more. Maybe these guys were trying to be like modern-day Robin Hoods, but didn’t take into consideration they might get caught.
Big bodybuilder caught in a big lie
Now, this next story is a bit messed up and just downright wrong. A bodybuilder in Long Island was caught in a disability scam after his wife posted photos of him weightlifting on her Instagram.
Now obviously the fact that he was lifting heavy weights was not the problem, the problem was that he had been collecting disability checks since 2015, after claiming he had a severe fall during his time as an electrician and could no longer work.
But as it turns out, that was a complete lie.
Luckily thanks to social media (who would’ve thought people would be saying that), the man was caught and now has to pay it all back and complete five years of probation. I guess sometimes social media can be a good thing.
That is literally my car
A man was arrested in Memphis after doing what was possibly the dumbest thing he could’ve done. Trying to sell a car he had stolen back to the original owner.
The man went out of his way to contact the woman and offered to sell it back to her for $3000. She set up a meeting time and place with him, however instead of showing up herself, she sent the police.
The man was obviously arrested and has been charged with auto theft and extortion.
I honestly don’t know how the man expected his plan to work, but I’d genuinely like for him to let us in on his thought process.
