The B.C. government is proposing new legislation to sue companies causing harm to the public. It targets the problems social media giants have caused to children – especially with their addictive algorithms. As Aaron McArthur reports, there are many questions about how far this legislation can go.
“The reality is that pursuing any type of a lawsuit like this, particularly one that is going to involve major corporations with billions of dollars to spend, is going to cost taxpayers millions of dollars.”
