This week on Weird and Wacky Wednesdays we begin by learning what absolutely should not be included in children’s lunches, and then we head to nowhere other than Florida, where a man posed as a police officer for Wendy’s discount. And we end this week with a sad story with an important reminder that guns are not toys and have very real consequences.

A PB&J sandwich with a side of meth
A mother in Louisiana was arrested after staff members at her 4-year-old daughter’s daycare centre discovered drugs in the child’s lunch box.
The drugs in question were methamphetamine and Xanax. She told police during questioning that she had bought the drugs for $75, but then couldn’t find them. I guess we know where they ended up.
After searching her house, police also found more meth, scales and plastic baggies. She has been charged with four felony narcotics counts and two misdemeanour raps.
Poor kid was probably expecting a bag of gushers as her treat and instead got a bag of drugs.
Fake it till you make it (or until you get caught)
A Florida man has been getting himself a nice 50% off discount on his Wendy’s meals for the past 2 years under the guise that he is a DEA agent.
He has been a regular at a Wendy’s located 20 minutes outside of Daytona Beach and has been receiving the half off discount for over 2 years, until recently when the manager of the Wendy’s asked to see some proof of his employment.
He flashed a badge, but when the manager asked to look at it more closely, the man became upset, and the manager told police he threatened to report the employees to Wendy’s corporate office for denying him his discount.
The abrupt reaction makes sense now that we know what the police confiscated was actually just a Concealed Weapon Permit and not DEA credentials.
He was arrested and charged with falsely impersonating an officer. I mean, in the grand scheme of things, this was the most harmless reason to impersonate an officer he could’ve chosen.
Guns are not for games
We’ll end today’s Weird and Wacky Wednesday with a sadder case that also happened in Florida.
A 16-old boy died in the hospital of a gunshot wound to the chest after he was shot by his friend. Police found evidence that it happened while the two boys were taking shots at each other while wearing some sort of protective vest.
When the police arrived, one friend was performing CPR on the friend who had been shot. His death was ruled a homicide.
The shooter and another friend are facing charges for providing false information to law enforcement, by deleting a Snapchat of the shooting off his phone. Both are also being charged as adults.
