Cheating on the Bar Exam: Cases That Should Have Gone to the Supreme Court of Canada, But Didn’t!

Welcome to “Cases That Should Have Gone to the Supreme Court of Canada, But Didn’t!”
In this episode, Kyla Lee from Acumen Law Corporation explores a high-profile case involving alleged cheating on the Ontario bar exam. After irregular answer patterns were flagged, an investigation revealed that a leaked answer key had circulated. The Law Society voided results for everyone who appeared to have used it—without individual hearings. Some candidates challenged this as a breach of procedural fairness. Kyla Lee on Radio NL News with Jeff and Bill: New rules for short-term rentals in BC

“I’m sure people are going to try every loophole they can to get around these rules…”

“In the US you see that your right to your property is in fact a constitutionally protected right. In Canada we recognize it as a right to privacy and security of the person. Those rights aren’t infringed when you’re using an extra property you own for the personal of extra financial gain. It’s within the rights of a provincial government to make legislation dealing with property and civil rights in the province, even if that limits your right to property you previously purchased.”
