This week on Weird and Wacky Wednesday we look into a story where a woman attempting to mail a cat and puppies. Also we discuss a man who crashed a horse drawn carriage into a car while intoxicated. And finally, a story about a woman who was arrested for drunk driving a kids power truck.

Postal Puppies
An Alberta woman has been charged after allegedly attempting to mail a cat and puppies.
On two occasions, Jill Marshall went to a Canada Post office with a cardboard box to be mailed. Ms. Marshall appropriately labelled the box with a destination and paid the correct postage for the package. The only thing wrong with her package were the contents.
Marshall was concerned about her package having enough postage to get to the destination so she also attached stamps to the heads of the puppy and cat.
That is the part of the story that makes me the saddest. There is something heart wrenching about picturing a puppy with a stamp on her forehead ready to be mailed.
According to a local officer, Marshall has been charged with causing animals to be in distress under the Animal Protection Act. The officer also mentioned that this is not their first encounter with Ms. Marshall.
And just so you know, Canada Post does not allow live animals to be mailed unless an agreement has been made prior to mailing. However, bees, day-old chicks and hatching eggs, parasites, leeches and some other small cold blooded animals can be mailed under certain conditions. You can also mail dead animals or their parts if you want but there are requirements that must be met.
Horse-Drawn-Disaster
Building on the theme from last week of things to crash while drunk, this week we bring you a story about a Kentucky man who crashed his horse drawn carriage into a car.It was a Tuesday night when police identified Reuben Yoder as the intoxicated operator of the horse drawn carriage. In the carriage at the time of the crash were Yoder’s wife, Salome Yoder, and their seven children. Thankfully, none of the passengers were injured.
Yoder failed a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and was arrested. He was then taken to hospital before being transferred to a regional jail.
Yoder has been charged with operating a non-motor vehicle under the influence of intoxicants, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief.
Little Toy Drunk
A South Carolina woman has been arrested after she was driving a kid’s toy power truck.Police were called after a witness saw a woman driving a toy car. When police arrived, Megan Holman appeared to be intoxicated. She was then arrested and charged with public intoxication.Turns out, however, that the charges were later dropped after the prosecutors concluded that driving a toy truck does not constitute a violation of the law. Lucky her… but here’s hoping she uses a little more common sense in the future.
